Money in The Attic?

As you may well be aware, the price of silver is at a pretty much all time high which is about time really as it has been languishing under the stairs like the ginger step child of precious metals for some time now. But, it would seem it’s not actually the under stairs repository of all things tedious that we need to be looking but rather the attic or perhaps even the garden shed.

This week we have attended several appointments with clients who have been motivated by the well publicised ascent of the price of silver to go exploring for that dusty suitcase or ragged cardboard box that contained long forgotten silvery items. Upon arrival we are often confronted by a vast heap of scrap silver to sort through. Some of course will be of the worthless, plated variety but mostly we hit a rich seam of treasure. The box of silver in the picture below was from one such event and weighed in at an impressive 5kg of solid 925 silver – you do the maths! Not a bad return from a quick rummage in the attic!
