What precious metals do you buy?
We buy gold, silver, platinum and palladium, although the types of items we accept vary by metal.
We buy gold bullion in bars and coins, as well as gold jewellery, coins, medals and other items made from gold.
For silver, we buy coins, bars, cutlery, tableware and other types of silver.
For platinum, we buy coins, bars, jewellery and scrap.
For palladium, we buy jewellery.
Do you buy plated gold or silver?
No. We do not buy gold-plated, gold-filled, rolled-gold or plated-silver items.
If you're unsure what an item is made from, we can test it during an appointment.
How do you test precious metals?
We examine items for identifying features such as hallmarks and use Sigma or XRF testing equipment.
Both are non-destructive testing methods.
We can show you the equipment readings and explain what we have identified.
Do you weigh items individually?
Yes. We weigh items individually as part of the assessment.
We also establish the fineness of the metal and provide a breakdown of what we have identified and tested.
How do you decide what an item is worth?
Our offer takes account of the fineness of the metal, quantity and current metal market prices.
We also look for additional value in individual items. Where appropriate, we work with selected buyers to try to achieve a better price and pass this on to our client.
What if my jewellery contains diamonds or gemstones?
Diamonds and gemstones can be assessed separately from the precious metal.
We don't automatically assume that jewellery is only worth its metal content.
Do I have to sell if I receive a valuation?
No.
There is no obligation to sell to us. You can have your items assessed, ask questions and decide afterwards.
Is there a charge for a valuation?
No. We do not charge for our service.
Do you come to my home?
Yes. We are a mobile service.
We can visit your home, your place of business or another mutually convenient location.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. We arrange visits in advance so that we can agree a suitable time and location.
When you first contact us, we'll ask what you have, where you are and when you're available.
How do I contact you?
You can contact us by phone, WhatsApp, Facebook or through our website.
You can also send photographs when you first contact us if they will help us understand what you have.
How do I get paid?
We pay by instant bank transfer or cash by prior arrangement.
Bank transfers normally arrive within seconds.
When do I hand over my items?
You don't hand over your items until you have seen that the payment has arrived in your bank account.
Once payment has been received and you have agreed to proceed, the items are handed over.
Do I need identification?
Yes. We require identification such as a driving licence, passport or other proof of ID.
Do I receive paperwork for the transaction?
Yes. Each transaction is documented with a formal Purchase Order detailing the purchase.
Where do you operate?
We operate throughout most of South and West Devon and South East Cornwall.
We regularly visit Plymouth, Exeter, Exmouth, Totnes, Newton Abbot, Torbay, Tavistock, Ivybridge, Kingsbridge, Dartmouth, Saltash, Liskeard, Looe, Launceston and many surrounding areas.
We do not travel outside Devon or Cornwall.
