As always (and I'm not sure why!) but the summer months brings a glut of jewelers and gold workers looking to cash in on their skinful of precious metal waste. Not every dealer will take on this material as it is very fiddly and time consuming to process to the point where it can be sold. We have a fixed price for the cleaning, sorting and smelting of your material which we think is very reasonable and fair and covers all aspects of the process.

The most common question we are asked is almost always in regards to the success rate and percentage of (usually) gold we recover from the average package. As you might expect this varies enormously as we have to get rid of all the dross which can include steel springs, dust, hair, other metals with no (or little) value, flux, solder and so on - the list goes on. It's not unusual for the process to take a day or so. But the range of gold recovered can be (at worst) 10% to (at best) 35% - that's not set in stone but is the typical range based on experience. Our commission based formula ensures that you tap into the current gold prices and maximise your return on this valuable perk.
